Privacy Doesn't Always
Mean A Big Fence

Blue and White Spruce make up the bulk of the plantings in this side yard design.
A generous berm, decorative boulders, some deciduous trees and new sod turns this flat and open area into a beautiful border which offers privacy, adds definition and gives the overall landscape a  rustic feel.

This is an example of "implied privacy"
Instead of a rather drab, single-file row of evergreens, typically used when screening is the issue, the strategically placed spruces and deciduous trees, along with the high berm, create a sense of privacy without creating a feeling of being walled-in.

Over time, the trees will fill-in, totally shielding the backyard from street traffic and prying eyes, while still offering an exciting view from the back porch.
