As outdoor lumber goes,
it's pretty hard to beat mahogany.
Its
durability, uniformity, and overall beauty is
timeless and it's a remarkably workable lumber too. |

| In
this example, we've taken the workability factor and
used it to create curves which definitely offer a
change from the traditional square-cornered decks
we're all used to seeing. |

Combined with vertical skirt boards and a grand stairway
entrance this deck is a perfect complement to the
natural setting in which it's built.
As custom jobs go, we've really outdone ourselves on
this one. The curves were first established with
the framing and the mahogany facing lumber was milled
and fastened in a variety of ways using a variety of
techniques which ultimately produced the deck you see
here. |

| In the day-to-day world of
landscape construction, we don't generally encounter a
lot of requests for work like this. But if
imagination can take a back seat to budget, there's no
limit to what we can do! |
